Kaiser Permanente Hawai‘i doctors, nurses and family members work in the māla (garden) at Kāko‘o ‘Ōiwi in Kāne‘ohe on King Kamehameha Day (observed June 10) for the 2022 Kaiser Permanente Annual Day of Service. Volunteers also served at Papahana Kuaola and Paepae o He‘eia in Kāne‘ohe as part of the effort within He‘eia ahupua‘a to complete restoration work in mountain, wetland and ocean environments. indward state Reps. Lisa Kitagawa and Scot Matayoshi are partnering with numerous community orga-
nizations to hold a Castle Complex School Supply Drive this Friday through Sunday at Windward Mall. The event will take place noon-9 p.m. June 24, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. June 25, and 10-a.m.-6 p.m. June 26.
The public can help schools, students and teachers by making a monetary donation or dropping off much-needed school supplies to assist keiki in the classroom. Welcomed ma- terials include pencils, erasers, crayons, mark- ers, composition books, folders, backpacks, slippers and more.
Partners for the event include ‘Ohana Nights at Windward Mall, Rotary Club of Kāne‘ohe, Kamehameha Schools, Castle Alumni/Community Association, Communi- ty Works 96744, Windward Community Col- lege and Kiwanis Club of Kāne‘ohe.
