until March 4 to apply for Hawai‘i Pacific Health’s Medical Assistant Program.
It’s a unique opportunity that came to be through a partnership between HPH and the state Department of Education that hopes to prepare teens for a career as a medical assis- tant through a combination of in-classroom instruction and clinical experience. It con- sists of two semesters of coursework and 225 hours of clinical externships.
Upon completion, program participants are given primary consideration for employ- ment at a Hawai‘i Pacific Health facility.
Those interested in applying are encouraged to visit their school counselor to find out what education requirements are needed. Applica- tions are available online at hawaiipacifichealth. org/medicalassistantprogram (search for “Stu- dent Medical Assistant” or “Job ID #18091”).
