    At this time of year, we often think about people and events who have made a difference in our lives. For me, it has to do with the wonderful people of Windward O‘ahu.

I have the Wind- ward Artist Guild to thank for ushering me into this mag- ical world of art, artists and art events. I soon forged an art part- nership with Robert Mace, like me a self-taught artist, collector and curator. We have worked together on a couple of shows and have one start- ing Thursday at The Arts at Marks Garage in Chinatown.
“I am lucky to have good friends who like to pose for me,” notes Teraoka.
We are also including in the show many artists who are a bit further into their careers, some with a few years’ expe- rience or are well-established. By working closely together on this show, they can serve as mentors for the younger artists by sharing both ex- pertise and experiences with them.
