By connecting educators and teens with in- dustry professionals, students on the Windward side are getting a first-hand look at a broad spectrum of career pathways and job possibili- ties through the innovative Hawai‘i Workforce Pipeline.
“Our mission is to connect quality industry professionals with public school educators and students. We do this to move closer to our goal of inspiring students to identify and prepare for a career within their interests that will pro- vide a sustainable living wage,” says Hawai‘i Workforce Pipeline president and Windward Academy for Career and Technical Education Intermediary Dr. Rachael Aquino.
Hawai‘i Workforce Pipeline is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Aquino last year. The pipeline’s first work-based learning partnership was established with the Wind- ward Academy for Career and Technical Ed-
