whom you’ve always had this dream, there really was no other way we would’ve had it.”
Joseph and Dayna Wood envisioned they would pen a book together from the mo- ment they first met.
Like Joseph, Dayna is also a teacher, but at ʻEwa Beach’s Pōhākea Elementary School. The husband-and-wife duo, who have been married for six years, coach soccer together at Kailua High School.
Later this year, the Pearl City natives plan to release another edition of The In- credible Adventures of Kins- lee and Kallie. Now, though, Windward Oʻahu residents can find the first book on Amazon or authorjosephday- na.com.
“You know when you first start dating and you talk about all the things you wanted to do together? Well, one of our goals was to become pub- lished authors,” says Joseph, who is also a teacher at Kai- lua Intermediate School. “We weren’t quite sure what type of book we wanted to write, but we always knew we want- ed to write something.”
“Soccer was actually what brought us together,” shares Joseph. “We both played soc- cer at the collegiate level so, because of that, we always thought it would the subject of our first book.
“We just want everyone to know how much we ap- preciate the love and support everyone has shown us. This was incredibly scary and a huge leap of faith for us, but having an entire island be- hind us and joining our ʻoha- na on this adventure has re- ally given us a sense of calm and peace.”
It was a dream come true, then, when the couple’s book, The Incredible Adventures of Kinslee and Kallie: How To Build A Snowman, hit the met- aphorical shelves of the inter-
net not too long ago. The story follows the lives of Kinslee and Kallie (the Woods’ re- al-life children) as they work together to create a snowman.
their journey through life and the different adventures that they partake in will allow their childhood to live on even when they become adults.
“Writing any book is a large undertaking that takes multiple processes, however, when you write it with your best friend and someone with
