The Salvation Army Kroc Center Hawai‘i recently cel- ebrated its 10th anniversary with a gala at its ‘Ewa Beach facility.
ing experience from chef Richard Andaya, who shared a personal story about the transformative work of The Salvation Army in his own life. There was also a social hour, silent auction and mu- sical entertainment.
$133 million. Construction began in April 2010, with the facility’s doors opening to the public in February 2012.
Proceeds from the eve- ning event, which was at- tended by area legislators and community leaders, benefited Kroc Cares Initia- tive, the nonprofit’s commu- nity outreach and social ser- vice efforts that serve West O‘ahu residents in need of food, Christmas toys, schol- arships, preschools and Kroc Center memberships.
“We are grateful for the outpouring of community support the vision for Kroc Center has received over the years, from pre-planning to build-out and operations, to pivoting during COVID-19 and now celebrating the milestone of our 10th anni- versary,” states Maj. Osei Stewart, corps officer for Kroc Center. “We look for- ward to celebrating many more milestones and sup- porting West O‘ahu’s com- munities for many more years to come.”
