and some months have been turbulent for own- er Tasha Santana, as she had to navigate the ebb and flow of COVID-19 restrictions. At one point, the mom of two lost 90% of her revenue.
“It was a tough time,” shares Santana. “We were shut down like many other retail shops, and even when we were allowed to open up, our sales were at about 10% due to team sports not taking place.
“Our main sales during the pandemic have been our Hawaiian Fight Gear line, as fami- lies began to set up home gyms; this includ- ed wrestling mats, punching bags and boxing gloves,” she adds. “Our O’Neal Motocross line also became popular as families chose to spend time in the open field riding dirt bikes. All oth- er sports were on hold for the most part. We applied for all of the grants available and were able to receive a minimal amount of funding to assist during that time.”
