Paul Marx joins Central Pacific Bank as senior vice president and manager of the Institutional Investments Department. Marx has more than 32 years of professional experience and was most recently CEO of Paul W. Marx & Associates. He has held executive roles with the Affordable Housing and Economic Development Foundation, Hawai‘i Benefit Administrators Inc., and Integrated Services Inc.
Rachel Jordan joins Carlsmith Ball LLP as an associate. Jordan is a graduate of University of Hawai‘i William S. Richardson School of Law, where she earned seven CALI Excellence for the Future Awards and co-authored an article that was published in The Yale Law Journal. She was previously a law clerk for Judge Sonja McCullen of the Intermediate Court of Appeals, Hawai‘i State Judiciary.
Budd Lauer is director of Institutional Advancement and executive director of the Foundation for Maryknoll School. He brings more than 14 years of experience in fundraising to the position. He will also oversee the alumni relations program while providing support to the alumni association. He was previously director of advancement at Honolulu Museum of Art.

Luana Low joins Kupu as program coordinator for the Kupu ‘Āina Corps. She will be the general point of contact for Kupu’s partner agencies and participants, and will lead the participant orientation, help with program management duties and ensure participants get the best experience throughout the year through regular check-ins. She was previously a participant in the Harold L. Lyon Arboretum’s Education Department.
Mike Foutch has been named vice president of hospital operations for Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children. He brings more than 25 years of health care experience to the position, having previously served as regional deputy director of medical care for the Pacific Air Forces headquartered at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Prior to that he was commander of Wright-Patterson Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.
Liana Takamine is an associate project architect at G70 design firm. She has more than 10 years of experience in architectural design. Her expertise is in adaptive reuse renovation and new constructions for resorts, retail, residential and mixed-use projects. She works with clients, developers and consultants to bring their visions to reality.
