JANUARY 11, 2023 MIDWEEK 7
    Dear Darah,
I love your col- umn! I wanted to thank someone personally, but the person who turned in my wallet at Costco Hawai‘i Kai did not leave their name. I hope they see this. I would really like to thank them in person if possible.
parking is usually manage- able. After shopping, I put my wallet on the back of the truck bed (I think) and drove off. I was not even aware that I had lost it. Then, I received a phone call from someone at Costco saying someone had turned in my wallet. I had ev- erything in it, including a lot of cash, my nursing license, my driver’s license, all my COVID cards (copies), six credit cards — you get the picture. I also keep a little drawing/note in my wallet that my son had given to me when he was 6 years old, which is irreplaceable!

Dear Darah,

The energy and positivity they have put into your world is a beautiful thing. How fortunate you are to have made such wonder- ful friends. Mahalo nui, Tamashiros!

On Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, I left for a quick Costco run before work. I didn’t have a patient until noon and thought I could get stuff done. Needless to say, I was rushing after sitting in Waimānalo traffic longer than expected. We prefer the Hawai‘i Kai Costco because the drive is beautiful, and the
Thank you, also, for re- storing my faith in humanity. There is a lot of insanity go- ing on in the world, even in Hawai‘i! So it is nice to know that aloha still exists.
I would like to thank Keith and Mardelle Tamashiro of Kāne‘ohe, who came to my rescue when I decided to come to Hawai‘i for a four- month bucket list visit. They really didn’t know me well — and yet jumped right in to help.
On the way to the condo five days later, they stopped at Costco and we stocked up on supplies. They carried it all up and put everything away. I was blown away by all their kindness to me. They refuse any kind of compensa- tion. I will forever be grateful for what they did for me, and never forget it. From the bot- tom of my heart, mahalo!
All this to say, mahalo nui from the bottom of my heart
