Maria Kinsler is chief operating officer for Kāhala Nui, and in this new role will lead daily operations. Kinsler most recently served as director of human resources and maintained and facilitated all aspects of human resources and payroll while serving as the corporate compliance officer on Kāhala Nui’s leadership team. She holds a master’s degree in management from Argosy University.
Roger Babcock Jr. has been appointed director of the Department of Environmental Services for the City & County of Honolulu. Babcock was a professor of civil and environmental engineering in the College of Engineering and the Water Resources Research Center at University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa for 25 years. Additionally, he was selected as Hawai‘i’s Engineer of the Year in 2019.
Anina Quaranto has been promoted to partner with Locations. A realtor since 2013, she specializes in military relocations, first-time homebuyers and 1031 exchanges. She holds the seniors real estate specialist designation, as well as a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Chaminade University. Quaranto is also on the advisory board for Locations Foundation, the firm’s nonprofit charitable arm.

Marco Abbruzzese is vice chair and senior executive director of wealth management for Bank of Hawai‘i. Abbruzzese will be responsible for overseeing the wealth management areas of the trust services group, investment services and The Private Bank at Bank of Hawai‘i. He has held several senior and executive leadership roles, specializing in wealth management at Wells Fargo, Citigroup and Chase Manhattan.
Ansley Calandra is field organizer for ACLU of Hawai‘i. She will help further build the organization’s reach to better protect and advance civil rights for the people of Hawai‘i. Previously, she served as field organizer on U.S. Rep. Cori Bush’s insurgent grassroots campaign in Missouri’s first district. Calandra graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in psychology and in philosophy.
Russel Cabral has been promoted to master control manager at ‘Ōlelo Community Media. He is responsible for policies and procedures that ensure ‘Ōlelo broadcast-technology services and content- distribution systems run smoothly and securely. He oversees live, streaming and video on-demand services, as well as the various systems, networks and applications that help share the community’s stories.
