In a time where most of our entertainment comes from what we watch on YouTube, Instagram or Tik- Tok, it takes a talented and humorous author to hold our attention and keep us want- ing to read more. MidWeek’s own Ron Nagasawa has been this author for so many years, contributing positivity and bringing light to everyday sit- uations, making his column, What’s Next, a weekly must- read for so many.
week? He’s so funny! He talked about ...” and she would proceed to tell us his story in between laughter with emphasis on his quotes. The best part was always his punchline, of course. I know my mom is just one of many who has benefited from a laugh or two due to his witty quip, so here are just a few Nagasawa fans who want to share a “mahalo nui” to the one and only, Ron Nagasawa.
My prayers go out to you each and every day. My wife and I have always loved your articles. Marsha passed away
on Jan. 12, 2021, from a rare form of cancer known as peritoneal carcinomatosis. It was a short seven months from being diagnosed to her passing; everything happened so quickly. My girls and I were devastated. But your articles helped me smile and be happy throughout these tumultuous 11 months, when I had nowhere else to turn to. Thank you, Ron. We are all praying for your welfare.

I always enjoy Ron’s col- umn because of his kindness,
good nature and humor! And all the sisters here feel the same! God bless you, Darah! We’re all praying for dear Ron!

I first heard of Ron when my mom would bring his name up at the dinner table asking, “Did you read Ron Nagasawa’s column this
