Dr. Winnie Suen has been appointed president and chief medical officer of ‘Ekahi Health. In her role, she will oversee the Central Medical Clinic and ‘Ekahi Wellness located in the Kuakini Medical Plaza. Previously, Suen was chief of geriatrics and palliative care at Hawai‘i Pacific Health. She is a graduate of University of Hawai‘i John A. Burns School of Medicine.
Mark Mendoza is a client services liaison at UHA Health Insurance. For the last 15 years, Mendoza was a special education teacher for Hawai‘i Department of Education. Previous positions also included instructor of early education at Honolulu Community College and Head Start teacher with Honolulu Community Action Program.
Linda Puu has been named vice president of quality and patient safety at The Queen’s Health Systems. She is responsible for developing and implementing business and strategic plans to meet the goals and objectives of QHS as they relate to the clinical practice of quality and patient safety. Puu brings more than 35 years of experience to the role.

David Ching joins the board of directors for HUGS (Help Understanding & Group Support). The nonprofit’s mission is to strengthen Hawai‘i’s families and improve their quality of life as they face the emotional and financial hardships of caring for a seriously ill child. Ching is vice president/financial adviser for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.
Rebecca Harper has been promoted to administrative assistant manager at Kupu. She will assist to ensure team members fulfill program and AmeriCorps requirements, as well as oversee the Hawai‘i Youth Conservation Corps Summer and Conservation Leadership Development program staff to ensure the success of the program and more.
Glenn Medeiros joins the board of directors for Pālama Settlement. He will serve a three- year term for the nonprofit/community-based social service agency. Medeiros is currently the president of Saint Louis School. Prior to that, he was an assistant professor at Chaminade University and a vice principal and high school teacher at Maryknoll School.
