David Underriner has been named executive vice president of O‘ahu operations for Hawai‘i Pacific Health. He will serve as CEO of Hawai‘i Pacific Health’s three facilities on O‘ahu: Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children, Pali Momi Medical Center and Straub Medical Center. Previously, Underriner was chief heath officer at HMSA, and president of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals Hawai‘i.
Ivy Wappler is project coordinator with Pono Pacific. Wappler will provide administrative, logistical and organizational support to the company’s team at Kuilima Farm in Kahuku. Previously, she worked at Cerity Partners in New York City and Apricot Lane Farms in California. Wappler earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental issues, and feminist and gender studies from Colorado College.
Reid Fukuya has been appointed vice president/risk management manager at Territorial Savings Bank. He is responsible for identifying, assessing and managing the bank’s risk environment. Previously, as assistant vice president/senior internal auditor, Fukuya conducted various internal audits and has a strong capacity for analysis and an ability to leverage technology for efficiency.

Emily Kim has been selected for Television Academy Foundation’s internship program. She is one of just 50 students chosen by academy members from across the country for this year’s cohort. Kim attended Punahou School and is currently a student at University of Southern California, where she’s majoring in film and TV production. She will be interning remotely this summer with Daniel L. Paulson Productions.
Brandt Fukuda is project manager at Castle & Cooke Hawai‘i. He will be responsible for the coordination, oversight, management and completion of multiple planned projects. From 2005 to 2007, Fukuda completed construction of several Mililani Mauka homes. He then worked at Quality General Inc. as project engineer and project manager for 14 years before returning to Castle & Cooke Hawai‘i.
Kimberly Soares now is vice president of Atlas Insurance Agency’s benefit consulting unit. She will drive strategic planning, oversee client engagement, develop new client relationships, and manage the overall design and implementation of the benefit consulting programs. Most recently, she was president/owner of Insight Business Solutions Hawai‘i LLC.
