earl City residents Nolan and Jamie Hong have been sharing the stories of the people of Hawai‘i through their vid-
eo production company Pop Creative Media since 2016.
Before the two became the husband-and- wife team they are now, Jamie and Nolan first met more than a decade ago as coworkers at a local TV provider creating commercial produc- tions for corporate clients. However, it would be the fun side projects they did with friends where they would find their true passion.
“Friends started seeing our videos and said, ‘You guys make pretty good videos, would you be willing to make a video for my company or for my school?’ That’s when we started think- ing, maybe we could actually do this as a side business,” says Nolan.
Thus, Pop Creative Media came to fruition and officially became Nolan and Jamie’s full- time job, producing video content for local nonprofits and small businesses. At the time, they were still just friends, but would soon make their relationship official in 2018.
