ast month, Hawai‘i Women’s Legal Foundation presented Leeward O‘ahu resident Cynthia Johiro with the
prestigious 2023 Rhoda Lewis Award — an annual accolade given to a female attorney in Hawai‘i who has dedicated her career to public service.
“Ms. Johiro’s commitment to public ser- vice, educating the bar and volunteering with nonprofits is an inspiration to all,” states Jac- quie Esser, HWLF board president. “We are honored to award her with this year’s Rhoda Lewis Award.”
Johiro shares it was a special honor for her.
“The prior awardees are so fabulous that I am truly humbled my name will be added to the list. It seems inconceivable to receive an award for just doing my job,” says Johi- ro, who currently holds the position of the state’s deputy attorney general in the Tax & Charities Division.
