Global Leadership Program Launches For High Schoolers
   Leeward high school students are being offered a one-of-a-kind expe- rience by Hawai‘i-based nonprofit Pacific & Asian Affairs Council, as it has opened applications for its 2022 Global Leadership Program.

The nonprofit is preparing the next generation of leaders for an increasingly interconnected world. The program teaches participants how to understand complex sys- tems surrounding the world’s lead- ing problems.
The program will select 20 high school students from public, pri- vate, charter and home schools with an interest in exploring global is- sues. Applications are being accept- ed through Sept. 14, and sessions will begin with a fall break Leader- ship Summit on Oct. 2-5. A $50 fee is required at the time of program acceptance, and free waiver appli- cations are available.
The duration of the program spans seven months and includes a combination of in-person and virtual sessions. Students are eligi- ble for a $1,000 travel scholarship with PAAC upon completing the program.
