Pearl City High School Celebrates 50 Years, Welcomes Alumni

It’s been 50 years since Pearl City High School opened its doors to its first freshman class, and to cele-
brate, the Leeward O‘ahu in- stitution is welcoming back alumni — no matter if they graduated in the ’70s or last month — to commemorate this milestone occasion.
“Pearl City has a great legacy of great people and we just want to bring them back together to reconnect and celebrate all of the achievements we’ ve accom-
plished in the last 50 years,” shares student activities co- ordinator Kyle Miyashiro, who is helping organize the event alongside teachers and fellow alumni. (He’s a graduate of PCHS’ class of ’ 90, after all.)
From 4 to 10 p.m. July 9, the community is invited on campus to “experience yes- terday once more.” The eve- ning, Miyashiro says, begins with tours of the grounds.
