 The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program is currently seeking orga- nizations across the state — including here in East O‘ahu — to help provide nutritious meals for keiki who live in low-income communities during the months that school is not in session.

  Schools, public agencies, churches and private non- profits can apply to be a sponsor, and those who par- ticipate will receive reim- bursements for serving the healthy meals and snacks. Sponsors are also encour- aged to provide educational or recreational activities.
A required virtual work- shop for sponsors, conduct- ed by Hawai‘i Child Nutri- tional Programs, is slated for this month.
