   The event window for the MEO Rip Curl Pro is now through March 16.
Aussie Jack Robinson holds the top spot again af- ter his win at Pipeline and third place at Sunset Beach. Last year, this event was his worst of the year, so he’ ll need the added boost of confidence from his recent wins.
One is a five-time world champion who has been on tour since 2010, and the oth- er is a rookie. But each has a win this year.
The pressure is high. After the MEO Rip Curl Pro, there are only two more events before the mid-season cut, when the men’s field will be reduced from 36 surfers to 18 and the women’s field will be cut from 24 to 12.
It takes place in the city of Peniche, at a sandbar called Supertubos that looks a lot like Pipeline — except the waters are cold and the sandbars are fickle.
