ver since the age of 16, Waipi‘o resi- dent Wes Chun has been involved in the construction industry off-and-on
until he hit 24, and then decided to take on the challenge as a career.
The now-50-year-old Chun explains, “This type of work found me over and over. I thought I was going into foodservice, but once I was told ‘You look happiest doing construction.’ I’ve always had the entrepre- neurial spirit for as long as I can remember.”
As a result of that passion for his chosen field of work, Chun founded his business Wave Builders LLC, which has been going strong for the past five years. It is located at 94-459 ‘Ūke‘e St. in Waipi‘o.
Chun says that he and four of the current staff members worked together at various other companies for more than 15 years. They did custom homes, tract homes, rent- al property improvements, hotel renovations and retail store construction. Due to constant urging from his co-workers, Chun finally de- cided to open Wave Builders.
