Palama Tourney Seeks Players

The nonprofit social service agency Palama Settlement will have its ninth annual Charity Golf Tournament Aug. 31 at Kapolei Golf Course, with tee off at noon.

Check-in begins at 10:30 a.m., and golfers are eligible for contests such as holes-in-one, closest to the pin greenies, most accurate drive and longest drive.

Palama Settlement offers programs and services in town for all age groups to foster and enhance community well-being. These include the In-Community Treatment Program, which helps youths ages 12-17 complete high school and make healthy lifestyle choices and the Neighborhood Development and Community Outreach Program, which works to increase self-sufficiency among low-income immigrant populations. A youth athletic program and a summer enrichment course for students also are in place.

Entry fee is $200 per player or $600 for a team of three, which includes greens fees, golf cart, golf shirt, goodie bags, refreshments, a light lunch, buffet dinner and an awards banquet. Sponsorships run from Underwriter at $10,000 to Contributing Sponsor at $5,000 and Platinum Sponsor at $1,500.
