New Hope Leeward once again has expanded its horizons, this time focusing on the developing Kapolei area.

Its Kapolei campus is located at 480 Kamokila Blvd., in the former ACE Hardware space.

“We’ve always had a heart for the Leeward side of Oahu,” said Kapolei campus pastor Alex Panida. “Kapolei was a great site where we could establish a new church for the community that focuses more on the West side of Oahu.”

Currently, New Hope Leeward has three other locations: Aiea campus (at Pearlridge Theatres), Waipahu campus (Waipahu Town Center) and the West Shore campus (Keaau Beach Park in Makaha).

In addition to the physical locations, there also is an Internet campus, where viewers can experience the word of God through live streaming and have the opportunity to connect on social media.

Pastor Mike Lwin is senior pastor of all New Hope Leeward campuses and will speak at the Kapolei venue, which is its largest, with a seating capacity of 900.

According to Panida, the Kapolei campus will serve as more than just a church.

“We want to share the good news of Jesus Christ, that’s our first and foremost mission,” he said. “But we also want to be able to serve the community.”

The church already hosted its first community event in August in the form of a health and wellness fair, which followed the Kapolei campus grand opening Aug. 24.
