International restaurant chain Ruby Tuesday opened its sixth restaurant in the Islands Oct. 30 in Kapolei Commons.

“We are very excited to open in the Second City!” stated co-owner Rick Nakashima. “We feel this – our sixth Ruby Tuesday – may become our flagship restaurant, and we welcome the public to see the new, upscale decor that features both indoor and outdoor dining.”

Ruby Tuesday has hired 125 people to staff the restaurant.

“Our team is proud that we are locally owned and operated and now employ more than 500 local residents,” noted Nakashima,

“In these tough economic times we are very fortunate to continue to be able offer employment opportunities.”

Other Ruby Tuesday restaurants are located at Ala Moana Center, Moanalua Shopping Center, Windward Mall, Mililani and on Maui in Kihei.

The Kapolei Commons restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and management plans to add a daily breakfast service soon.
