Mustangs Plan Earth Day Recycling Drive

Kalaheo High School will have an Aloha ‘Aina Earth Day recycling drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 7 at the school, and also will accept nonperishable food items for Hawaii Foodbank.

To arrange for curbside pickup, call Heidi at 226-6198. For free towing of unwanted cars, call Rene Mansho at 306-1876.

Besides all kinds of scrap metal, items sought include HI-5 containers, cell phones, batteries, printer cartridges, magazines and cardboard, phone books, cardboard egg cartons and drink trays, cooking oil, phone books, computers, e-waste, plastic bags and hangers and much more. Charities will collect eyeglasses, hearing aids, usable clothing and household items.

Joining local businesses to help with the drive are sponsors Schnitzer Steel Hawaii, and city and state agencies and local lawmakers.
