Kunia HCAP Program Gives Back

Social media concept #GivingTuesday (celebrated Dec. 2 last year) is all about inviting those in the community to do good for those less fortunate, and numerous Honolulu Community Action Program Inc. (HCAP) efforts display selfless acts of kindness in giving back to the community.

HCAP Head Start Kunia keiki created 20 holiday cards for young patients at Shriner’s Hospital for Children. Kunia students used their hands to create festive turkeys and added their own views of gratitude and creativity to each of the cards, which were delivered Nov. 24.

HCAP Head Start Kunia exists to offer preschoolers and their ohana quality learning opportunities.

Other programs that participated in the #GivingTuesday movement were HCAP Youth Services, Leeward District Service Center, HCAP’s Windward STEM Center, HCAP Head Start Makalapa and HCAP’s main office.
