WELCOME TO Kimo’s Vegas … the Player’s Edge!

CONGRATS TO local boy chef and Iolani grad Devin Hashimoto on the opening of his latest restaurant, Mizumi, in the Wynn Las Vegas. On the menu is classic and contemporary Japanese cuisine prepared kaiseki style (a traditional Japanese cooking technique). A long time ago Steve Wynn figured out that if the restaurant is beautiful the food tastes more ono, so you no can go wrong in the main dining room, the teppanyaki room or the robatayaki bar.

MIRROR, MIRROR on the wall, who’s richest billionaire of them all? The top three richest dudes who call the desert home are No. 3 Steve Wynn ($2.8 billion), No. 2 Kirk Kerkorian ($3 billion) and No. 1 Sheldon Adelson ($21.5 billion).

YOU’RE WELCOME … If you’ve ever lost a buck in a Wynn casino, you have contributed in some small way to Steve Wynn’s new hale. The casino magnate dropped $70 million to buy the penthouse of the Ritz Carlton, N.Y.

MEN’S HEALTH magazine has published a list of the smuttiest cities in the U.S. based on searches for porn, the number of adult entertainment stores and stuff. Imagine Las Vegans’ surprise when they didn’t make the top of the list. That honor (or would that be a dishonor) went to Orlando … Sin City finished second, and the 808 didn’t even make the top 10.

WE’VE ALL HEARD the saying “Las Vegas wasn’t built on winners.” But the Riviera Rewards players club will rebate new or inactive members up to $1,000. There are a few catches and some fine print, like you only get a half of your first-day losses and the other half a month or so later, but the Grand Guarantee is still worth a look see.

“OH YES, it’s ladies night”… the men of American Storm work Thursday through Sunday in the Plaza Hotel & Casino’s showroom …

SNOOP DOGG was honored with a wax figure at Madame Tussauds in the Venetian.

KIMO’S VEGAS TIP: If you think the cabbie is ripping you off, ask him to call dispatch for a fair quote.

CAESARS ISSUES 150,000 birthday meal coupons every month.

THE COSMOPOLITAN lost $23.4 million – a big improvement over years first quarter, when the red ink was $56.8 million.

NAKATION … That’s what you call a nudist on vacation or an attendee at the “Nudist Clubhouse Nudist Expo 2012.” The convention takes place at the Alexis Park All Suite Resort June 1 and 2 … Ever wonder where they carry their cash?

DID YOU KNOW … that the first telephone in Las Vegas was installed at the Golden Gate?

WHO KNEW? There are more than 2,000 different species of scorpions, and just the other day University of Nevada-Las Vegas researchers discovered a new one. Named after Death Valley’s Inyo Mountains, the Wernerius inyoenis checks in at just two-thirds of an inch.
