Kalihi YMCA Golf Tourney
More than a 150 golfers participated in the 26th annual Kalihi YMCA Endowment Golf Tournament recently at Pearl Country Club. The tournament raised more than $30,000 to support the Kalihi Y’s Ho’okupa’a “school’s out” teen programs that provide teens with a safe place to spend their non-school hours, while also helping their development in peer and family relationships, leadership and academic success. The Kalihi Y also serves as the YMCA of Honolulu’s central outreach service facility for more than 4,000 at-risk teens, with programs in 22 school sites across Oahu that address school dropout, gang involvement and drug and alcohol prevention and intervention.
