Leather Soul Opens In Downtown Honolulu

Leather Soul has opened its newest location in downtown Honolulu in the historic Stangenwald Building (119 Merchant St.). The company specializes in exclusive luxury footwear and accessories for men. The new Downtown store also offers an expanded collection of apparel, shoes and accessories, including oxford shirts, an exclusive Reyn Spooner for Leather Soul aloha shirt, neckties, and denim by 3sixteen and Armory. Kahala Mall Welcomes Two New Stores

Kahala Mall welcomes two new stores, both locally owned – 33 Butterflies and Kahala Lifestyles (located in the former Kahala Kids space, across from Zales).

33 Butterflies is a women’s boutique featuring clothing and accessories inspired by the Soho boutiques in New York City. Kahala Lifestyles offers Island-inspired apparel for the entire family, as well as gifts and accessories such as quilts, jewelry and handbags.

HIFI Pop-Up Shop At Jams

Jams World at Ward Centre and the Hawaii Fashion Incubator (HiFi) have teamed up for a holiday pop-up shop through Jan. 9 featuring the work of seven local designers from HiFi – Base Project, Ecolicious, Machine Machine, Organik, Stir Crazy, Sasaki Bags and Jen Stone.

DIY Sewing Classes At Hifi Coop At Ward Warehouse

Uakea Egami of ME+U by uakea hosts a DIY sewing 101 series at the HiFi Coop at Ward Warehouse (above T&C Surf) Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 5:30 p.m. The easy-level, four-week group course includes completing a zippered pouch, a stuffed animal, a toweled apron and refashioned tees. It also centers around the fun and learning process of sewing.

Familiarize yourself with basic skills, vocabulary and machine knowledge, and gain confidence as you complete one project each week. Some previous sewing experience is helpful but not necessary. The classes are appropriate for ages 13 and up.
