Honoree Helps RYSE

Martha Balkin (left) is The Junior League of Honolulu’s 2025 Laura N. Dowsett Honoree and she selected RYSE — Residential Youth Services & Empowerment — to receive a $1,000 donation in her honor on behalf of JLH.  Pictured with Balkin are RYSE executive director Carla Hauser (center) and JLH president Niea Gardner. The Laura N. Dowsett Award was created in 1982 to honor a sustaining member who demonstrates the spirit of voluntarism, the value of specialized training, the effectiveness of advocacy, and other qualities of leadership and development in the JLH. 

Aloha United Way Gets 15k

HWMG, a kama‘āina employee-owned health plan administrator for HMAA and other clients, recently gave $15,000 to Aloha United Way.
