Red Cross Honored With $25K Gift

Kelci Nakano (right), 7-Eleven Hawai‘i customer care manager, recently presented Dave Washburn, chief development officer of American Red Cross Hawai‘i, with a donation of $25,000 in support of Red Cross Month in March. American Red Cross in Hawai‘i’s mission is to “prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.” It provides disaster relief and teaches lifesaving skills to the people of Hawai‘i, helps people to prevent and prepare for emergencies, and aids military ‘ohana as well.

Grant Enhances Restaurant Industry

Hawai‘i USA Federal Credit Union awarded a $1,000 grant to the Hawai‘i Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (HRAEF), whose mission is to enhance the restaurant and food service industries through education, community engagement and promotion of career opportunities. The foundation’s focus is on providing the necessary resources to help educational and labor challenges with the latest innovations in education, technology, and training and inspiring current and future hospitality industry workers.
