Mālama ‘Āina On Earth Day

On April 22, a local group celebrated Earth Day by clearing Wailupe Stream of growth and underbrush. The project was spearheaded by chair Steve Lipscomb of the District 19 Republican Party. Walmart, Sam’s Club Rally

Hawai‘i Walmart and Sam’s Club raised more funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals than any other market in the country. To ring in the good news, Hilo Walmart managers presented a $383,060 check to national CMN leaders and Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children, which is the state’s only CMN Hospital. Local VP Recognized

Hawai‘i Central Federal Credit Union’s Edwina Suzuki, vice president of administration and human resources, was honored with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s District Director’s Award for her role in helping small, local businesses attain the Payment Protection Program (PPP) loan.
