Founder Celebrates 80th In A Big Way

Ed Buck (second from left), founder of E.A. Buck Financial Services, celebrated his 80th birthday by participating in the Honolulu Marathon on Dec. 10. He did so along with 80 of E.A. Buck’s ‘ohana and friends, who flew in from all over the country to run the race. In addition, the Buck Charitable Foundation presented a check for $25,000 to University of Hawai‘i’s Cancer Center to show its support for Buck as he battles stage 4 melanoma cancer. Center Holds Event To Honor Veterans

Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation Center held a Veterans Day event for 31 U.S. veterans who reside or work at the center. It also honored World War II nisei veterans (front, from left) Robert Sato and Harold Kamoto, who are both 99 years old and served with the Military Intelligence Service. Donation Helps Rebuild Valley Isle

Nordic PCL Construction remains committed to the Maui community following the August wildfires and recently donated $7,500 to local food banks — money that was used to provide more than 10,000 Thanksgiving meals for residents. Nordic PCL also donated $50,000 to Aloha United Way to help with the Lahaina wildfires.
