Grant Helps ‘Ohana Find Stable Homes

Nareit Foundation presented a $200,000 grant to Family Promise of Hawai‘i to support its ‘Ohana Navigation Center, which will assist homeless families in making the transition to stable housing. The campus provides affordable apartment units and will also have on-site resources, including shower and laundry facilities, a community kitchen with access to free food, a children’s play area, a computer lab and a community room for group activities. Credit Union Serves Up Lunch, Kindness

Hawai‘i Central Federal Credit Union staff recently cooked up local favorites for co-workers in exchange for a $15 donation. The team sold 51 plate lunches and raised $1,052 for its efforts. All funds were donated to HUGS (Help, Understanding & Group Support) to aid in helping families with children diagnosed with life-threatening conditions.
