This Holiday Season, Consider A Gift Of Time

As we enjoy spending time with family, friends and neighbors during the holidays, I encourage you to do what our recent guest speaker, Jan Kaeo from Dale Carnegie Leadership Training in Honolulu, suggested and give to others without expectations. It can be time, knowledge or even just a smile. A gift of time can include genuinely listening to co-workers, kids or grandkids and being less reactive and more supportive on their path to achieving whatever goals they may have. As you know, my walks on the beach are reflective and inspiring, especially when someone smiles as they walk by.

More than 100 attendees were smiling during the Chamber’s recent general membership luncheon at Mid Pacific Country Club as we recognized the 2014 board of directors and all that this board has achieved over the past several months.

Speaking of achievements, your Kailua Chamber of Commerce is lighting up Kailua for the holidays with support from A&B Kailua and the King family, as well as a new video highlighting our member businesses. The video will be on view in front of Kailua Information Center and on the KCOC website at kailuachamber.org. Produced and edited by Kailua videographer Jake Johnson, it highlights the many features of our local businesses.

We also are partnering once again with Hawaii Symphony Orchestra to bring you a New Year’s Eve Concert at Ko‘olau Ballrooms. Check the Kailua Chamber website for more information on this extravaganza, which will include dinner as well as the concert!
