Help After A Flood

Dear Pamela,

One morning the police knocked on my door a 4 a.m. to tell me of a water main break. This was the third water main break in about five years. One had caused major damage to the home resulting in financial loss. This time the garden was washed out and the garage and washroom were flooded.

I called a number of cleaning firms and found Advantage Carpet Care. Justin from the company came, cleaned the garage and washroom of water, mud, debris and reported that his employer said no charge! I am grateful since I could not have done the job myself because of age.

Thanks to Justin and Advantage Carpet Care, the flood from the water main break was taken care of. The garage and washroom are clean and dry. The aloha spirit is still with us!

Dear Masae,

Advantage accounting manager Peggy Young has much APPLAUSE for company owner Patty Polieshaj. “She is always doing things like that,” she says. “She has a soft heart, especially for military families. We already offer a 10-percent discount for the military, but I often see ‘no charge’ on many of the bills because the husband is deployed or the wife has her hands full with the kids. We have even gotten mahalo emails from Afghanistan. She deserves APPLAUSE, along with carpet cleaning technician Justin Welch, who is very hard-working and caring.”

Dear Pamela,

This warm mahalo goes out to the Honolulu Branch of Merrill Lynch for the out-pouring of love and generosity to our students at Waianae Elementary. To help our students start off on the right foot this school year, Merrill Lynch’s Honolulu branch director George Kaluhiokalani and Rae Cambonga and Lisa Yoshikawa organized a donation drive to support our students. During the first week of school, director Kaluhiokalani and his staff members drove to Waianae Elementary to drop off more than 160 backpacks filled with school supplies along with over 150 pairs of slippers, extra sets of clothing and a monetary donation to the school.

When passing out the backpacks to our students, they have been so excited and appreciative. Thank you to the staff at Honolulu Branch of Merrill Lynch. You are definitely “Angels with Aloha.”
