Group Protests Loss Of Ag Land With Downtown Tractor Parade

Save Oahu Farmlands Alliance hosted “Protest of the Farm Tractors” Feb. 21 in Honolulu.

From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the group paraded a convoy of tractors through downtown streets in protest of the potential loss of farmland throughout the island because of proposed developments. These include Ho’opili, between Kapolei and Ewa, as well as Koa Ridge in Central Oahu.

The purpose of the march was to raise awareness about the loss of these agricultural lands, which provide fresh, locally grown produce.
