Get A Taste Of Castle Sunday

Castle High’s Project Grad 2013 will have its annual Windward Holiday Craft & Gift Fair and “Taste of Castle” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in the school cafeteria, offering the latest edition of its cookbook plus tasty $1 samples from the printed recipes.

This year’s effort is Timeless Favorites, selling for $13, illustrated by Jocelyn Cheng and containing easy-to-make recipes suitable for tail-gating parties, among other occasions.

Proceeds from cookbook sales, vendor fees and other booths will go to support the alcohol- and drug-free graduation party planned by parent volunteers for about 300 seniors. Also happening is a Hawaiian precious metals fundraiser. Customers can get cash for their old jewelry, with 10 percent of the proceeds going to Project Graduation. (Arrangements can be made for private appointments.)

The Project Grad committee also will sell wooden pendants made of local woods and carved by Habilitat residents into the piko (circle) or makau (fish hook) designs. Price is $20 each.

For more information, call Teri-Lyn Sato at 554-9620 (craft fair) or Ailyn Lum at 235-6346 (Taste of Castle).
