Forum Set On Kailua Crime Wave

Kailua Neighborhood Board has scheduled a community forum on property crime for 7 p.m. March 13 at Kailua District Park.

“Because of problems with home burglaries and car break-ins,” said board chairman Chuck Prentiss, “this will be an important discussion for our community.”

A panel of experts has been assembled to address the issues as well. They include City Prosecutor Keith Kaneshiro, state Public Safety director Ted Sakai, state Judiciary spokeswoman Tammy Mori, an official from Honolulu Police Department and Judge Steven Alm, who established Hawaii’s HOPE probation program.

The forum originally was set for Feb. 20. For more information, email prentissc001@hawaii.rr.com.
