Focus on Windward Oahu
Violet Roberts (with visor) helps Margaret Aton pick out a plant to buy. The two are sisters and alumni of the school who were born and raised in Waiahole Valley. Roberts still works at the school, which opened during the reign of King David Kalakaua, and Aton was there to ‘come back to (her) roots.’ Aton noted that the school feels like one big ohana with much compassion. She also recalls sleepovers at the homes of her classmates. Photos by Rachel Breit, firstname.lastname@example.org.
