‘Fiddler’ On HPU Theater Roof

Start checking the roof at Hawaii Pacific University’s Paul and Vi Loo Theater — there may be a fiddler or two up there, as the college soon debuts Fiddler on the Roof, opening at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7 on the Hawaii Loa campus.

Fiddler focuses on a Jewish family living in Imperial Russia in 1905. Tevye the milkman wants the best for his five daughters, but changing times, murmurs of revolution and religious prejudice throw roadblocks in the family’s path toward happiness.

Directed by Windward theatre stalwart Joyce Maltby, the play runs Thursdays-Sundays, Nov. 7-30. Thursday-Saturday shows start at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays it’s 4 p.m. There is a special Nov. 26 show at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $20, with discounts for seniors, military, students, and HPU faculty, staff and students. To order, call the box office at 375-1282.
