Kupuna Concierge, an Ewa Beach-based initiative from Child & Family Service, is offering gift certificates to help families care for elderly loved ones – just in time for Mother’s Day.

Launched last year, the service aims to help seniors achieve a healthy lifestyle while providing personalized services.

“The goal of Kupuna Concierge is to help seniors stay in a home setting for a longer period of time and live a quality life,” explained CFS executive vice president and CEO Patti Bates.

“Hawaii’s senior population (age 60 and older) is projected to grow to 25 percent of the total population by 2030,” she explained, adding that the state also has the nation’s largest population of people over 85. “With this increase in the population, the need for services to assist seniors to live independently in their homes will continue to grow.”

Services include transportation assistance, social outings and household maintenance.

The Mother’s Day gift certificates are available through Friday and are valid through December. They are offered at hourly rates: three hours for $100; six hours for $200; and nine hours for $300.
