Energy Seminar Focus On Financial Literacy

A free public seminar on reducing energy bills is set for 5:30-8 p.m. Oct. 2 at Queen Lili’uokalani Children’s Center in Kaneohe, co-sponsored by the taxpayer-funded Hawaii Energy agency.

The program includes dinner, door prizes and keiki activities. All area residents seeking ways to cut monthly electricity and water bills are invited, but an RSVP is requested by today (Sept. 25) to Kawai Miller at 234-2210.

The community outreach program will feature a presentation by Helen Wai, a veteran instructor of financial literacy. Wai’s talk will cover appliance rebates, lighting and water heating strategies, and community partnerships. Each attendee will receive an energy-saving conserve power switch, while supplies last.

The QLCC is located at 46-316 Haiku Road.
