Encouraging Teen Driver Safety

National Teen Driver Safety Week is here, and three West Oahu schools need your help to earn safe-driving commitments for Celebrate My Drive, a campaign uniting teens, parents, school officials and those in the community to promote teen-driver safety.

Aiea, Campbell and Waipahu high schools (along with Kahuku Intermediate School) will compete for a chance to win grants of $25,000 and $100,000, as well as a private concert by Grammy-nominated The Band Perry.

Car crashes have been a leading cause of death for those 14-18 years of age for decades, and Celebrate My Drive and National Teen Driver Safety Week aims to prevent this statistic.

To help out these West Oahu schools, anyone ages 14 and older can make a “safe driving commitment” online at CelebrateMyDrive.com until Oct. 24.

The 100 high schools that generate the most commitments will win a prize.
