Eat Out Kailua On Keolu Saturday

Enchanted Lake Elementary School and Na Keiki Pomaika’i present their monthly “Eat Out Kailua” from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the school parking lot on Keolu Drive, featuring more than a dozen food and dessert trucks, plus live and DJ music, fundraising booths and free parking.

According to organizers, the event is drawing up to 2,000 customers on the third Saturday of each month.

It began to rave reviews on Jan. 21 as a way to help fund the Hawaiian Soljahs baseball team on its trip in June to a Cooperstown, N.Y. tournament. Four Kailua families formed Na Keiki Pomaika’i to support the team’s effort. The team and the school each man a booth selling drinks and treats to make money. (The school also will have a benefit imu roast April 6 to support its computer program.)

This weekend’s “Eat” will feature the local band Island Storm 808, playing from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., a display of dragsters, and keiki carnival rides. For updated information about the food trucks, visit eatoutkailua.com. For additional details, email eatoutkailua@yahoo.com.
