• HOT RODS East End Hot Rods has a classic car show from 5 to 10 p.m. Sept. 8 at Hawaii Kai Towne Center, featuring more than 200 dream machines on display in the Executive Plaza parking lot behind City Mill. Call 983-1348.
• SISTER CITIES Joint concerts between sister cities Honolulu and Naha City, featuring Ikeda Suguru, are set for 2 and 6 p.m. Sept. 8 at Mamiya Theatre. Tickets cost $40 and $20. Call 391-0193.
• HULA BENEFIT Kumu hula Leimomi Ho and her halau host a Grandparents Day fundraiser from 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Kahala Elementary cafeteria, 4559 Kilauea Ave., featuring a beef stew dinner, prizes, baked goods and a hula show by Keali‘ika‘apunihonua Ke‘ena A‘o Hula. Tickets cost $10 in advance, $15 at the door, $6 for keiki 5-12 years. Proceeds support travel to a hula competition in California Nov. 2-4. Call 734-0711.
