David Malo Awards
West Honolulu Rotary Club celebrated the 57th annual David Malo Banquet Nov. 8 at Hale Koa Hotel. This year’s two watermen honorees of David Malo Awards are Richard “Buffalo” Keaulana and Joseph “Nappy” K. Napolean Jr. In l957, the David Malo Award was created by the club to recognize an individual of Hawaiian ancestry whose accomplishments have epitomized the idea of high achievement in such fields as art, music, dance, education, science, government, religion, business or sports.
