Darlene Cuaresma wanted to buy some of those popular rubber band Loom bracelets for her 7-year-old son, so last Thursday she went to Kmart in Waikele. As she left the store at 2:15 p.m., MidWeek‘s representative approached Darlene with a simple question. She answered correctly and instantly won a $150 Kmart spree.

“We live right down the road, so it’s very convenient,” said this week’s Mystery Shopper about why she likes shopping at Kmart. “Also, the prices are good, and I always find what I want.”

Darlene, a 1978 graduate of Waipahu High School, is a mother of three children who enjoys reading, shopping and jigsaw puzzles. She also likes to read MidWeek.

“We always look for the ads,” she said. “But I like to read the articles too, such as the cover stories and Ron Nagasawa’s column. I always read him. He’s funny.”
