Curtain Up Sept. 27 For DHT’s ‘Cabaret!’

Suddenly World War II is on the horizon in naughty Berlin – and the cast at Diamond Head Theatre has been rehearsing long and hard to make it so.

The curtain goes up Sept. 27 at DHT on the hit musical Cabaret!, which features Drew Tandal as master of ceremonies, Samantha Stoltzfus as Sally Bowles, David James Bachler as Clifford Bradshaw, Shari Lynn as Fraulein Schneider and Jeff Schmidt as Herr Schultz.

The story unfolds in the 1930s at the Kit Kat Klub in the tumultuous German city, just before Hitler’s rise to power. As the Nazis grow stronger, everyone’s lives seem to disintegrate. However, there are some great songs to help us all through it: Willkommen, The Money Song, Two Ladies and Cabaret, for example.

John Rampage directs and choreographs the production, which runs from Sept. 27 to Oct. 13. Curtain is at 8 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, 4 p.m Sundays and 3 p.m. Oct. 5 and 12. For ticket information and reservations, call 733-0274.

Show sponsors are United Airlines and Sheraton Waikiki Resort.
