‘Cool Nights’ Seeking Vendors

The fifth annual party for a cause is coming up next month, and there’s still room for more sponsors, vendors and donors to sign up for the Windward side’s biggest philanthropic block party that “celebrates all things Kailua.”

Cool Kailua Nights (CKN) will run from 4 to 9 p.m. Oct. 12 in the Whole Foods Market parking lot, featuring exhibits, a wellness fair, entertainment, a fashion show, wine and beer garden, art, keiki rides, a dunking booth, plenty of food and prizes, and a vast array of silent auction items. The entertainment lineup includes Kapena, Augie T., Davey D., Lina Girl and other groups.

Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii Windward Clubhouse and Castle Medical Center’s Oncology Clinic. Last year, according to founder and current creative director of CKN Danielle Scherman, the event raised more than $30,000 and attracted more than 10,000 people. A Kailua native, Scherman launched the first CKN in 2006 in support of her mother, who was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Final deadline to apply is Sept. 15, with vendors paying a $350 fee (non-food) or $550 (food). For vendor and sponsor application forms and details, go to coolkailuanights.com.
