Conference: Retooling Ways To Help Youths

The Office of Youth Services will sponsor a conference devoted to “understanding” from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 25 at Koolau Ballrooms in Kaneohe.

Together with the Hawaii Youth Services Network, OYS aims to equip each participant with “a deeper sense of appreciation for cultural values and practices, new meaning and purpose to our work with youths and Hawaiian culture resources.” Presenters include Pono Shim, Manu Meyers, Karen Umemoto, Tai-An Maio, Wayde Ho’apili Lee and Susan Chandler.

Seating for “Nana I Ke Kumu … E Malama Kakou” (Look to the Source … to take care of each) is limited, and guests must register by April 19 for the free program, which includes refreshments. For more information, call Maricel Lumagui at 531-2198, ext. 6.
